HPMC E5 is white, water soluble powder with low viscosity, HPMC E5 is extensively applied on pharmaceutical industry as a a film former, binder, suspending agent, and in other Oral & topical formulations
It is best suited for tablet coating, film forming, and as a binder in a wet granulation. (to form granules)
HPMC E5 Properties:
- It is mixed directly with water to form free flowing powder.
- It makes smooth, thin, uniform films on tablet as it is versatile in film forming creation.

Applications: HPMC E5
1) Pharmaceuticals: As binder in tablet, thickener & film former, coating – produce smooth uniform film on tablets. also in ophthalmic application for eye drops, Oral liquid forms
2) Food Industry: In food processing as a thickener emulsifier, and stabilizer
3) Personal Care Products: Creams, lotions, shampoos, gel etc.

How It is Used:
Slowly add HPMC into water while stirring to avoid lump formation. Complete dissolving before mixing with other material gives better performance.
- For tablets: It should be 1% – 5%
- For plant capsules, film forming gel, stabilizer ointment emulsifier, solid dispersant: It should be 2% -10%
How to Store:
- It should be place in dry & cool place
- Avoid direct contact into sunlight as it may reduce quality
- It should sealed packed after every use.
