Sakshi Chem Sciences Pvt. Ltd. is the trusted manufacturer, exporter and supplier of 100% virgin PP fiber.

Polypropylene Fiber or PP Fiber is an organic synthetic fiber that is 100 % made of Polypropylene. Due to the complex demands of modern-day construction, PP fiber has become the best choice for builders and engineers.

PP fiber is an effective and simple material that helps in providing enhanced concrete quality, Crack, water & fire resistance. It can bear harsh conditions, improve durability, and cohesion, inhibit water entrance, prevents bleeding, and avoids the formation of bleed holes.

It is cost-effective as reduced labor requirements are there. It provides automatic positioning reinforcement which reduces project cost.

PP fiber helps in giving resilience and a more durable, harder, and rust-free surface. It is compatible with all types of concrete admixtures.

It can be mixed either before after or during the batching of concrete is done. It is easy to use environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

Comparatively, a smaller quantity of dosage helps in achieving superior results. However, it is combustible and will burn if exposed to flames or other ignitions.

Available in sizes such as 6 mm , 12 mm and 20 mm can be used as per project requirements.

Description

Advantages of Polypropylene Fiber (PP Fiber)

Polypropylene Fiber, also commonly known as PP fiber, is a 100 % virgin Polypropylene. It is a synthetic fiber as it is made from Polypropylene, which is a kind of plastic. It is highly used in construction industries in various cementious mixtures.

These fibers are lightweight, thin, and very easy to use when they mix in the concrete, it enhances the durability, safety, and overall strength of the concrete structure.

PP Fibers boosts concrete strength by reducing cracks, fire resistance and delivering long-lasting performance of the structure. It is available in various sizes like 6 mm, 12 mm, and 20 mm fit for multiple applications.

It is used for reinforcement, which is 100 % organic, eco-friendly, and biodegradable. PP Fiber is tough and it can bear harsh environments. This fiber helps reduce the entrance of water and provides a tough surface with fewer bleeding holes.

It increases cohesion and minimizes plastic shrinkage cracking giving a harder, durable, and superior abrasion resistance. It provides even distribution when mixed in concrete, creating a matrix-like structure and reducing sedimentation.

It is cost-effective, and there is no need for an additional secondary steel mesh require as the positioning is done easily.

6mm PP fiber for construction in medium or low-strength concrete reduces water absorption and enhances resistance to freeze /thaw damages which results in increased durability.

Use of PP fiber helps in improved tendon protection by capitalizing the material properties to achieved greater strength, durability and flexibility.

The use of 6mm PP fiber for construction helps in the prevention of mortar split by minimizing the percentage of cracking and splitting.

Dosage, Method of Application and Storage

Dosage:

1. Crack resistance is the recommended dosage of 0.9 kg/m3 fibers to cement mortar would be sufficient.
2. Reinforcement and seepage-resistant applications 1.8kg/ m3 would be good.

Method of Applications:

There is no need for any changes to be made in the ratio of sand, cement, and aggregates. One should put all  aggregate, cement , additives and fibers then proper stirring is required by mixing enough water and this stirring can be extended for 2-3 minutes for the compound to mix properly and completely.

One can also add cement and other aggregates in advance by adding water on-site before the construction work starts.

Storage:

It is recommended that the container should be kept closed in the original packing and it should be kept in cool and dry place to avoid humidity.

What is the Impact of Polypropylene Fibers in Reinforced Concrete?

PP Fiber helps in improving flexibility, durability, and overall strength and gives crack water and fire resistance organically.

Why is polypropylene used in concrete?

PP fiber is used to enhance the quality of the concrete and reduce plastic shrinkage cracking.

What are the disadvantages of polypropylene fiber in concrete?

It is combustible and can burn if exposed to flames or other sources of ignition and it has low concrete bonding strength.

Is polypropylene fiber safe?

Yes, it is safe as it is environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

Why is polypropylene better than PVC?

As compared to PVC, PP fiber is lightweight, chemically inert, and has more heat resistance.

Which fiber is better for concrete?

Keeping in mind modern-day construction needs polypropylene fiber is better.

Is polypropylene fiber waterproof?

Yes, It is waterproof as it has hydrophobic properties of not absorbing water.

What is 100% polypropylene?

100 % polypropylene is made up of virgin polypropylene which is a type of plastic.

Is polypropylene heatproof?

No, it is not heatproof.

What is the price of polypropylene fiber?
If PP Fiber used is there a requirement of special finishing techniques?

No, there is no requirement for any other special finishing techniques as it helps in automatic reinforcement finalization.

Is polypropylene UV proof?

No, it is not naturally UV-proof.

How to make PP fiber?

PP Fiber is made by melt-spinning polypropylene.

It Is better to use PP fiber or crack control steel mesh?

PP Fiber is half the cost required for crack control steel mesh so PP fiber is better.

Can concrete with PP fiber be pumped?

Yes, as fibers support the pumping characteristics.

Are movements in joints necessary?

For an unreinforced slab designed it is important that there should be joint movements.

What is the price of PP fiber per kg?
